Quick Take: Vikings conquer Bears country with a 9-24 victory

Bears

Sexy Rexy needs just one leg to throw for the only Bears touchdown

It was over when ...

Daniael Manning fumbled the kick off return and the Vikings took an early lead on a Adrian Petersen 1 yard touchdown run. Four interceptions later it was also time for Kyle Orton to pick up the clipboard and let Rex Grossman finish a horrible 9-24 performance for the Bears.

Game ball

In this game you get three-for-one. Gate 1 we have Tyrell Jackson with 6 tackle and three sacks. Or do you like Gate 2 with Ben Leber and his 6 tackles, one sack and two picks? Gate 3 includes Darren Sharper, the 5 tackles and 2 interceptions-man.

Key stat

10 sacks allowed, 4 interceptions and 5 turnover overall were too much for a Bears offence that has only one bright spot – rookie Matt Forte and his 165 yards receiving.

Noteworthy

The turning point of this game was in the second quarter. The Bears were marching and converted even a 2nd and 35 with one run and one pass. Mr. Drive-Killer Orton then was picked for the third time and the Vikings scored on the next play with a 70 yard pass to Sidney Rice to make it 0-21.

Quick Take: Slow Packers let home crowd wait until fourth quarter to seal the victory over Redskins

Jump around

Under heavy pressure, J. Campbell gets rid of the ball, but (the coach controlled) R. Pickett deflects the pass

It was over when...

Will Blackmon picked up a muffed punt, giving the Packers the opportunity to start a drive on the opponents 24yrd line with 12min to go in the fourth quarter. Ryan Grant scored the 21-7 on a two yard TD run and the Packers lead was too high for the Redskins to get back into the game.

Game ball

goes to Packers WR Greg Jennings who had the best game of the season so far with 9 receptions for 140 yards. The catch of the game for 57 yards came with seconds to play in the second quarter, setting up the second Packers TD, giving the Pack huge momentum going into the half.

Key stat

For a long time, the game was dominated by the two Defenses, reflected in the subpar 3rd down conversion rating for both teams (below 31%). While the Redskins secondary gave Aaron Rodgers a hard time finding into the game, the Packers D line dominated Clinton Protis and sacked Jason Campbell four times, three by Aaron Kampman

Noteworthy

Four of the game's TDs came after the Offenses turned over the ball deep in their own territory. While both teams scored TDs after interceptions, the Pack also scored after recovering a muffed punt and a missed 4th down conversion.

Tye Hill picks the Rookie QB

Prime Time: Tye Hill picks the Rookie QB and goes 84y for a TD with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter

It was over when...

Tye Hill picked Joe Flacco and took the ball back to the Ravens endzone to make it 24:13 for the Rams. The pick came on the most promising drive of the Ravens and ended it immediately.

Game ball

No doubt, goes to the workhorse of the offense with Steven Jackson. The Rams took the telephone call with fellow Madden coach McNuff serious and stayed conservative the whole game, rushing 46 times for over 200 yards. Jackass provided the big punch with 195 yards on 38 carries and 2 TD`s.

Key stat

Rams rushing stats. Bart Scott closing in on 16 tackles but often too late. He now is the Rams RB`s best friend. Marc Bulgers good completion rate of 57% and he stayed the f%&$ cool with the long ball, 23yards was his longest completion of the game.

Noteworthy

The Rams threw only one ball within the direction of the FS and what would be Ed "THE! Ballhawk" Reed`s spot on the field. The good thing was he sat out one series due to a short injury and the pass was completed to Donnie Avery. Will Witherspoon led the Ram LB`s with 7 stops and Tye Hill was also a force with 6 stops and two pass deflections to complement his interception return TD.

Thigpen pays the price for holding on to the ball a little too long

Thigpen pays the price for holding on to the ball a little too long

It was over when...

Shayne Graham connected on a 39 yard FG with just over 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter, giving the Bengals a 27-10 lead and effectively putting the game out of the Chiefs' reach. With Kansas City's defense unable to stop the Bengals' running game, and its offense anaemic for most of the day, it was clear that the Chiefs would not come back from 3 scores down.

Game ball

Cincinnati's offensive line had a field day, opening up huge holes that the Bengals' RBs exploited for 387 rushing yards on 45 attempts. The Chiefs' front seven spent most of the day flat on their backs, as the Bengals' line registered 34 pancakes, and only allowed 1 sack.

Key stat

Cedric Benson led the Bengals' ground attack with 34 runs for 234 yards and 2 TDs, including a 56-yard rumble at the end of the third quarter. Chris Perry and Kenny Watson also scored a TD apiece, and even Carson Palmer, who is definitely not know for being fleet footed, picked up a couple of first downs while running with the ball.

Noteworthy

The Bengals' defense held Larry Johnson to 63 yards rushing on 16 attempts... Tony Gonzalez did not register a single catch... The Chiefs' only TD came on a 99 yards kickoff return by rookie Kevin Robinson just before halftime... Bengals DT Domata Peko got to Tyler Thigpen twice, and now has 5 sacks for the season.
