Quick Take: Bears managed to escape a loss to the Lions

70 yards to success - D. Hester caught the game winning TD against the Lions
It was over when...
The Bears finally got to the endzone 4:35 left in the fourth quarter. Kyle Orton spotted his speedy wideout Devin Hester who had a little separation from the corner and the safety. 70 yards later Chicago lead for the first time in the second half and handed the responsibility to the defence that sealed the 19-18 victory over the struggling Lions.
Game ball
Oldie but Goldie Mike Brown came back from injury with a stellar performance. Brown made 5 tackles, one sack, one interception and had a forced fumble. His pick led to the game winning Hester-touchdown.
Key stat
The Lions defence held Matt Forte to just 73 yards and an average of 2.7 yards per carry. For the first time this season the rookie sensation did not reach the 100 yard plateau and struggled to get in the endzone.
Noteworthy
The Lions D-Linemen were the unsung heroes of the game. They had not one, not two but three goal line stands in the first half. DeVries, White, Redding and Darby managed to stop the running game with 1 and goal at the 1 yard line twice.
