Game summary

FB Michael Robinson caught a pair of TD passes as the San Francisco 49ers came from behind to edge the Cincinnati Bengals 24-23 at Candlestick Park.

An early second half goal line stand by the defense turned out to be the key play of the game. With Ryan Fitzpatrick in at QB in place of injured starter Carson Palmer, the Bengals drove down the length of the field but failed to get the ball across the goal line on their first posession of the 3rd quarter.

Meanwhile, San Francisco went airborne to put some life into its sputtering offense, with Hill throwing for almost 300 yards and 2 TDs. The game went to the wire and Robinson became the hero of the night when Hill beat the rush on a 3rd-and-goal with only 16 ticks left on the clock, finding Robinson in the flat for a short TD pass.

The Bengals tried to ice kicker Joe Nedney before the extra point, but his kick split the uprights for the game-winning score.
