In his Packers Blog, Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel asked Fans about their individual reaction to Brett Favre's comments is his latest media outing when he was talking with Joe Buck in his HBO sports talk show. Here just a short excerpt of the over 800 postings. Currently, everybody who's following the story around the gunslinger quarterback is convinced that he will play in purple and gold next season as long as the shoulder heals fast enough:
mpevan:
...if Favre steps out on Lambeau field in a Vikings jersey...he will be dead to me....unacceptable and inexcusable.
brewcitypaul:
I say this with a heavy heart, but there is nothing at this point that would give me greater joy than to watch AJ Hawk or Aaron Kampmann lay Favre out on his back and then have him carried off the field on a stretcher in front of Packer nation at Lambeau. Karma will come around to Favre and he will have his day of reckoning. Mark my words.
btciskie:
You can't properly prepare yourself to get knifed in the back by a guy you overglorified for most of your youth. That's fine. I think the Packers have -- in their very limited public comment on this -- taken the right stance. I say "Bring it".
iowaband:
When he comes to Lambeau in November as a visitor it will be one of the most memorable games in recent years for Green Bay fans, regardless of personal perspective.
GAKATTACK:
He may only play one season with the Vikings. But, what is the life of those purple #4 jerseys? How long will we continue to see those displayed at Packer games? I am sure Vikings fans will not let us forget.
Digger:
Should Favre be booed on Novemeber 1st?? [Vikings@Packers] I vote no. Polite applause seems appropriate. (However, if Kampman sacks him, I'm gong through the roof!)
sparrowhawk:
No one is questioning Favre's legal right to sign with another team. Only his integrity is being questioned for signing with a hated rival for the purpose of revenge. Most Packer fans on this blog have the common sense to realize when they are being insulted.
wilmar3ed:
My feeling about Favre going to Minnesota is like a good buddy who is dating an ex-girlfriend. You *want* to wish him well, especially since you have moved on, but it still hurts.
Byrdman:
Anybody know Favre's address in MS? I need to mail him a bunch of memorabilia.
